The Game:
Garry's Mod (commonly abbreviated as Gmod, stylized as garry's mod), is a sandbox physics game developed predominantly by Garry Newman and later Facepunch Studios. Garry's Mod was originally a modification for Valve's Half-Life 2, but was later made into a standalone game. It is available for Microsoft Windows, OS X and Linux.

Although Garry's Mod is listed as a full game, it has no objectives and instead gives the player a sandbox to manipulate items free of restrictions, although most multiplayer servers offer original game modes created by players. Garry's Mod allows players to manipulate items, furniture, and props – various objects that players can place in-game.

Props can be selected from any installed Source engine game or from a community created collection. The game features two guns, the Physics Gun and Tool Gun, for manipulating objects. The Physics Gun allows objects to be picked up, adjusted, and frozen in place. The Tool Gun is a multi-purpose tool for performing tasks, such as constraining props together, creating interactive buttons, and creating controllable winches and wheels. The Tool Gun is also used to control add-ons created by the community.

Garry's Mod takes advantage of the Source engine's modified version of the Havok Physics Engine, which allows players to build contraptions that follow the laws of physics, allowing for very real structures and experiments.

The Division: Since our establishment in 2015, Garry's Mod continues to remain alongside Jedi Academy as one of The Sci-Fi Network's primary gaming divisions. However, our Garry's Mod server runs on a personal computer via a dedicated server (Steam Version of GMod) so our server won't be online every day.

The Sci-Fi Network primary runs Stargate-related content on our server, but that doesn't necessarily mean we won't be running anything else. We enjoy a multitude of different genres, so you can expect anywhere from default GMod content to Star Trek GMod content.

So if you're looking to join our Garry's Mod division, we'll be glad to have you! Server information will be dispersed through (Private) Steam Chat only.
